No. 15, whichever is less, additional lifeboats of Class 1 or Class 2 shall be placed on board to make up the deficiency.
If the boats so provided do not provide accommodation for 80 per cent of all persons on board, additional lifeboats of Class 1 or Class 2, or approved life rafts, or other ap- proved buoyant apparatus shall be provided so that the ac- commodation provided by the lifeboats, life rafts and buoyant apparatus shall be sufficient for 80 per cent of all persons on board.
The stowage of the additional boats shall be decided by the Government Marine Surveyor.
56. EQUIPMENT FOR LIFEBOATS-Every lifeboat form- ing part of the statutory life saving appliances of any pilgrim ship engaged on short international voyages shall be pro- vided with the full equipment for lifeboats specified in the Instructions with the exception that, subject to the approval of the Government Marine Surveyor, biscuits and condensed milk need not be provided.
57. EQUIPMENT. FOR LIFE RAFTS: Every life raft forming part of the statutory life saving appliances of any pilgrim ship engaged on short international voyages shall be provided with the full equipment for life rafts specified in the Instructions with the exception that, subject to the ap- proval of the Government Marine Surveyor, biscuits need not be provided.
58. LIFE-BUOYS :--The minimum number of approved life-buoys with which such ships are to be provided is as
follows:-
The number of sets of davits and the boat capacities of ships not provided for in the Table shall be prescribed by the Government Marine Surveyor.
LIFE RAFTS 55. LIFEBOATS,
AP- BUOYANT AND PARATUS: Each set of davits shall have a boat of Class 1 attached to it.
If the lifeboats attached to davits do not provide accom- modation for 80 per cent of all persons on board or the minimum cubic capacity specified in Column (E) of Table
